The Flash has been renewed for season 5
The CW is expanding their scripted lineup from Monday through Friday to Sunday through Friday for the 2018-2019 season. You know what that means, right? Plenty of room for their roster of DC superhero TV shows! And with that comes official confirmation that The Flash season 5 is coming.
The Flash‘s season 5 renewal isn’t much of a surprise. The series remains one of the most popular on the network, and it has consistently delivered traditional superhero adventure, terrific characters, and a hefty dose of weirdness when the situation demands it. The show’s fourth season had a bit of a rocky start, but a string of terrific recent episodes, including the superb ‘Enter Flashtime’ and ‘Run, Iris, Run’ have definitely helped the show feel like its old self again.
And, of course, Barry Allen isn’t coming alone. The Flash season 5 will run alongside renewals for Supergirl, Legends Of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, and Arrow, not to mention a host of other beloved CW scripted shows.
Now, we anxiously await word on who the new villain will be next season…
The Flash season 5 air date
The Flash always has an October premiere in the US, and the CW tends to drop their superhero shows the first week after New York Comic-Con ends. With that in mind, we’re just going to pencil in The Flash‘s season 5 premiere for Tuesday, 9th October. We’ll update this when we have official confirmation, and a UK air date.
