So, now that we know Ralphy Dibny is gone for good, I suppose all we can do is set back and see how the remainder of the war between the Flash and the Thinker will play out. Actually, if promo material circulating ahead of next week’s episode, “Therefore She Is,” gives us any sort of idea of what to expect, it’s that we could be in store for a real barn-burner.

Well, we already knew to anticipate Jessica Camacho’s return as Gypsy well in advance, but we suspect that whatever she has to sort out with Cisco Ramon is only the tip of the iceberg. Really, the team could use all the help possible against a supremely powered Clifford DeVoe right now, and the bounty hunter from Earth-19 may just be the right woman to provide it.

So, as you peruse the accompanying gallery, be sure to take in some cool shots of Gypsy herself, who is not only included in images culled from the episode in question, but also features in a sweet new poster for the series. We get only a handful of these per season, so be sure to savor the graphic design team’s latest offering for all it’s worth.

Additionally, it’s hard not to notice actress Kim Engelbrecht looking rather fierce in a few of the photos, thus causing us to wonder if next week will see her finally turning on her onscreen husband. So far, we’ve been given more than a few hints that not all is well between her and Clifford, making us ponder whether the title of “Therefore She Is” is actually referring to her.

For more, be sure to check out the official synopsis:

GYPSY RETURNS — Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash team up with Gypsy (guest star Jessica Camacho) to try to thwart Thinker’s plan. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Gypsy have a heart to heart talk about their relationship. Rob J. Greenlea directed the episode written by Sterling Gates & Thomas Pound (#420).  Original airdate 5/1/2018.

The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW.

The thing about shocking moments is that you never know when they’ll arrive. In the case of The Flash, one of season 4’s biggest surprises came this week when Clifford DeVoe overtook Ralph Dibny AKA the Elongated Man as his new host, thus making him more powerful than ever – and using those morphing abilities so the Thinker can finally be played by Neil Sandilands again. Face it, pretty much everyone who kept the seat warm for him paled in comparison.

So, as we wait to see how the saga continues to unfold next week with “Fury Rogue,” we have two other favorites to welcome back to Central City, those being Citizen Cold and – get this – Black Siren. Now, we already knew that Earth-X’s Leo Snart would be stopping by for a short stay, but the femme fatale comes as a shock because we had no hint that she’d be involved until the below gallery was released.

On the one hand, we have to wonder how her guest shot makes sense because Black Siren’s been occupied by being the most ambiguous and duplicitous person to take up residence in Star City as of late. But on the other, one could call this a homecoming of sorts.

If you’ll recall, it was The Flash‘s second season that actually introduced us to Earth-2’s Laurel Lance, not long after her do-gooder doppelganger bit the dust over on Arrow. Being a product of Zoom’s full-scale invasion at that time, it should be interesting to see what her motivation is for taking a break from Ricardo Diaz’s game and making her return to the Scarlet Speedster’s home court.

For more, be sure to check out the official synopsis:

WENTWORTH MILLER RETURNS AS CITIZEN COLD — When Barry (Grant Gustin) needs help transporting a dangerous meta, he calls on a new friend for help – Leo Snart AKA Citizen Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller). Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) becomes suspicious of Harry (Tom Cavanagh). Rachel Talalay directed the episode written by Jeff Hersh & Joshua V. Gilbert (#419). Original airdate 4/24/2018.

The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW.

We’re now in the final third of episodes of this year’s season of The CW’s Arrowverse shows. Apart from Supergirl which is currently on a break, Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow each have a couple of months left to go before they wrap up for the year. But what can we expect to see in this last stretch?

Thankfully, cast and crew members of the shows were on hand recently to tease some new intriguing details, as shared by EW. First off, Carlos Valdes – who plays Cisco Ramon – revealed how the fight against the Thinker will take its toll on the STAR Labs gang in future episodes of The Flash season 4. The actor hinted that Harry’s usage of the Thinking Cap will cause some “dark secrets” to come out that will drive a wedge between him and his friends.

“The biggest secret weapon that Team Flash has at the moment is the Thinking Cap. It seems to be the next logical step in taking down DeVoe is to match his intelligence. However, that situation starts to get complicated. Harry gets ahead of himself and some dark secrets come out that definitely complicate his relationship to the team, especially his relationship to Cisco.”

Moving onto Legends, exec producer Marc Guggenheim promised fans that the romance between Time Bureau agent Ada and the Waverider’s captain Sara Lance would continue, teasing that there would be a significant moment for the couple in the upcoming season 3 finale.

“I don’t wanna spoil what happens to their relationship, but I think there’s a moment in the finale that you will not be unhappy with.”

Guggenheim was also on hand to tell us how the Arrow season 6 finale will end. The showrunner said that there would be another kind of cliffhanger that would close the season on a high. However, it wouldn’t be quite as “traditional” as last year’s explosive ending, and would be closer on the spectrum to the finale of season 1.

Arrow and The Flash continue on The CW next week. Legends of Tomorrow, meanwhile, reaches its finale on April 9th, after which Supergirl returns for its final run of episodes.

The CW’s crop of Arrowverse shows – ArrowThe FlashSupergirl and Legends of Tomorrow – are all gearing up for their finales, with April to June bringing about the end of the beloved DC TV series. And though it’s widely expected that each one will return in the fall, that’s not guaranteed just yet. The network still hasn’t handed out renewals and some folks are starting to wonder if there’s a reason to worry.

Well, according to Deadline at least, there isn’t. The outlet recently weighed in on the chances of Oliver Queen, Barry Allen and the rest of the gang sticking around for more after their current runs are complete, and noted that The CW “will likely renew all returning series on its fall schedule.” Furthermore, they also say that Black Lightning – which is not part of the Arrowverse but also kinda is – “looks like a sure bet for renewal.”

We should make clear that this doesn’t mean it’s a 100% guarantee that each show will return, but Deadline’s usually pretty accurate in their assessments with this type of stuff. Besides, why wouldn’t The CW renew their various Arrowverse programs?

They do well for the network in terms of ratings and each one has a pretty sizeable fanbase of devoted and loyal viewers. Not to mention that there are still a lot of exciting developments on the horizon – like Matt Ryan joining Legends as a regular – and much story left to tell. In other words, at this point, we’d be pretty shocked if ArrowThe FlashSupergirl and/or Legends of Tomorrow got the axe.

We’ll be sure to let you know once The CW makes things official, but in the meantime, tell us, what are you hoping to see from the Arrowverse next year? Take to the usual place and sound off!

Though we may still be waiting for Kevin Smith to further extend his tendrils out into the Arrowverse, one has to admit that he’s directed some mighty fine episodes of both The Flash and Supergirl to date. Of those, it’s become apparent that he likes to focus on character and emotion, but he’s still left room for some epic science fiction sequences.

Well, as it turns out, Smith has booked a return trip to Central City that just so happens to coincide with the end of the Scarlet Speedster’s latest hiatus (I know, we’re all getting tired of the breaks). And in that, we know not only to expect for him and Jason Mewes to get in front of the camera for a brief period, but also some memorable guest appearances to be made by heroes and villains as well.

Here’s what the official synopsis for “Null and Annoyed” lets us know:

Barry (Grant Gustin) and Ralph (guest star Hartley Sawyer) take different approaches to finding the remaining bus metas before DeVoe gets to them. However, Ralph’s cavalier attitude frustrates Barry and the two clash over what it means to be a hero. Meanwhile, Breacher (guest star Danny Trejo) returns to ask Cisco (Carlos Valdes) for a favor. Kevin Smith directed the episode written by Lauren Certo & Kristen Kim.

Based on that, we’re reaffirmed Smith will continue focusing on interpersonal dynamics between various characters, with Barry and Ralph butting heads, and the latest chapter in the saga chronicling Cisco and Breacher’s complicated relationship.

Still, it’s hard to ignore that the villain of the week, Null, isn’t mentioned at all, even if the episode in question is named for her. Perhaps this was just an oversight, but one can only hope that she’s more than just a plot device. After all, she’s one of three remaining people on DeVoe’s hit list.

The Flash returns with new episodes on Tuesday, April 10 on The CW.

With spring officially kicking off in a matter of days, we’ll soon be getting the sense that the current runs of our favorite DC TV shows will be winding down. Lamentable as that may be, the final stretch of episodes can often be the most exciting, as we’re treated to the payoffs we’ve been awaiting for the better part of a year.

So, without further delay, here’s a breakdown of when each series will see their respective finales air:

April 9 at 8 p.m. ET: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

April 17 at 9 p.m. ET: Black Lightning

May 17 at 9 p.m. ET: Arrow

May 22 at 8 p.m. ET: The Flash

May 28 at 9 p.m. ET: iZombie

June 18 at 8 p.m. ET: Supergirl

As you may have noticed, Legends of Tomorrow is first on the docket, which normally enjoys shorter seasons to begin with. Given that, it’s no surprise that it be the first to the finish line on April 9 before Supergirl reclaims that timeslot the following week on April 16. And, similarly, the Girl of Steel is said to be experiencing no more interruptions from here on out, therefore it’ll wrap up on June 18 as expected.

Speaking of shorter seasons, the incredibly impressive freshman run of Black Lightning will be hot on Legends‘ heels with a concluding episode that we assume to be as tightly written and intriguing as its predecessors. Likewise, the intricately plotted iZombie will end its truncated season in late May.

To end this conversation that somehow unfolded in nonlinear fashion, it’s worth pointing out that Arrow and The Flash were the two shows to stay on course for the most part, despite enduring hiatus after hiatus. Normally, both of their finales air in mid to late May, which, as we can see, is luckily still the case.

Tell us, which DC TV shows have been your favorites this season? And which of these finales are you looking forward to most? Sound off in the usual place below!

When a show such as The Flash remains on the air for four seasons or longer, it’s expected for the titular character to not only grow as a hero, but as a person as well. As such, an enduring love interest comes along with that. Clark Kent found his match in Lois Lane back when Smallville was still on, and Barry Allen has done likewise with Iris West on this particular series.

Now, some of you reading this may not really care about this specific aspect, defiantly sitting on the side of the fence opposite those “shippers,” but, let’s face it, relationships are a part of life. Given that, you’re going to need something to pad an hour of television because it can’t be just heroes punching bad guys from start to finish. After all, this isn’t Avengers Assemble.

So, now that her character of Iris West has finally tied the knot with Barry Allen, actress Candice Patton has an idea of which domino should fall next, saying the following to TV Guide:

“I mean, no one wants to see pregnant Iris, but yeah, I think the next step, I guess, would be eventually to see Barry and Iris have a kid. I don’t know when that could possibly happen with what they’re trying to do.”

To be honest, I wouldn’t rule out seeing such a thing in future seasons, but the idea of those two having kids is something on the mind of Arrowverse fans everywhere at the moment, albeit in a different capacity.

You see, a decent fraction of the fanbase – myself included – share a gut feeling that Jessica Parker Kennedy’s mystery girl is either their daughter, Dawn Allen, or their granddaughter, Jenni Ognats, who’s traveled back from the future. Of course, time will tell, but those seem like our most solids bets.

The Flash Trailer

And if a baby were to be added to the list of Iris’ accomplishments that now include becoming a speedster for one episode, Patton seems satisfied with what her character has achieved:

“For me the bucket list is checked. I mean, if you guys killed me off tomorrow, I feel like I had a good run.”

Funny she should say that, because I’m of the ilk that thinks she’s pretty much bulletproof at this point. After all, if the producers went through so much trouble to have her avoid death at the hands of Savitar last season, why do it now?

The Flash returns with new episodes on Tuesday, April 10 on The CW.

Well, we’ve now seen what’s become one of the hottest talking points among the Arrowverse fanbase over the course of the past few months. Really, whether you were optimistically for it or angrily against it, pretty much everyone has had their own opinion regarding the decision to make Iris West a speedster on The Flash. And now that it’s happened, the discussion and debate over how it played out and if it worked well or not is raging on.

It’s actually a bit surprising in many ways that it’s taken this long for the show to get around to this particular storyline. Iris West has gained super-speed before in the comics and the hero swapping their powers with someone else is a trope of the genre. If you think about it, Iris’ newfound connection to the Speed Force means that Joe West is the only member of Team Flash to have never had any powers, even temporarily. Even his fiancee Cecille recently got telepathic abilities.

But we digress. Iris finally suited up in tonight’s episode, titled “Run, Iris, Run,” and The CW has been kind enough to release the above clip, showing off the character using her new powers to take down a particularly nasty foe. It’s a fun scene, to be sure, and one that we’re happy to relive a few more times as we continue to digest the episode as a whole.

As actress Candice Patton explained earlier, though, while she was happy to suit up on “Run, Iris, Run,” it’s important to remember that with or without powers, Iris is a hero in her own right.

“I always thought it would be cool for fans and for the show to see her suit up for an episode. I never wanted it to be a thing, where Iris became a superhero on The Flash. We’ve got enough superheroes, and that’s just not who Iris is. The most important thing about who Iris is, as a character, is that she’s a hero, in her own right, without any superpowers.

The Flash will return to The CW next week with episode 4×17, titled “Null and Annoyed.” It was directed by Kevin Smith, too, so you can bet that we’re in for a treat.

In but a matter of hours, we’ll finally bear witness to what has become one of the hottest talking points among the Arrowverse fanbase over the course of the past few months. Really, whether you’re optimistically for it or angrily against it, pretty much everyone has had their own opinion regarding the decision to make Iris West a speedster on The Flash.

But no matter what side of the fence you may be on, there’s really no need to burst a blood vessel because this is just a temporary thing, as Barry Allen’s powers will transfer over to Iris thanks to a bus meta for only one episode. Still, it can’t be ruled out that she’ll acquire powers of her own on a more permanent basis down the road, but it’s for the best we not get too ahead of ourselves.

When recently speaking with Collider, actress Candice Patton seemed happy at the notion of suiting up, even if only for a one-off:

“I always thought it would be cool for fans and for the show to see her suit up for an episode. I never wanted it to be a thing, where Iris became a superhero on The Flash. We’ve got enough superheroes, and that’s just not who Iris is. The most important thing about who Iris is, as a character, is that she’s a hero, in her own right, without any superpowers. She uses her heart, her intellect, and her street smarts to help the team. It appeals to the audience that we, ourselves as human beings, every day, can be heroes in our own lives. We don’t need superpowers and we don’t need to get struck by lightning tomorrow to do something important. Irish illuminates that, on the show.”

In doing so, Patton obviously has to step up to whatever challenges come with filming for a speedster. As she continued, she spoke of what it was like to run a mile in the shoes of her co-star, Grant Gustin:

“For the character, really cool. For me, it was just like riding a bike, for the first time. There is no school for acting in front of a green screen that I’m aware of. I’ve watched Grant [Gustin] do it for three years and been like, ‘Cool for you, bro. That’s something I’ll never have to do, but good for you.’ I didn’t find out about this until shortly before we were shooting it.”

And while executive producer and showrunner Todd Helbing danced around fan theories surrounding Jessica Parker Kennedy’s mystery girl in the very same interview, we encourage you all to keep your eyes peeled for her during tonight’s spectacle. Truth be told, if any episode calls for another appearance to be made by her, it’s that of “Run, Iris, Run.”

The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW.

WARNING: This article contains SPOILERS for The Flash Season 4 Episode 15

Another speedster is headed to CW’s The Flash, as the fastest woman alive. That’s the tease dropped in the latest episode of The Flash, when Barry Allen calls upon his speedster friends to save Central City in a single second. Even a handful of speedsters from DC’s TV Multiverse weren’t enough to save the day, but the real bombshell of the episode was the revelation that another future Flash is incoming from Earth-3.

We don’t know this new Flash’s name, her origins, or her top speed. But if Jay Garrick is a man of his word, then Barry, Iris, Jesse, and the rest of Team Flash may have another ally before long. The question now becomes… which female speedster are The Flash‘s writers going to be adapting from DC Comics?

RELATED: The Flash’s Iris West Becomes a Speedster, Too!

The tease comes after the nuclear detonation threatening Central City is averted (thanks to Barry using that strange Season 3 finale lightning storm per Iris’s directions). Jay Garrick returns looking far better than when the Speed Force drained from him during the extended “Flash Time,” taking a bigger toll than most fans will hope. Enough to make Jay realize that his years as a speedster on Earth-3 were getting particularly long, and that some time off the job was long overdue. But that doesn’t mean his Earth will go unprotected by a Flash.

Before Jay Garrick hangs up his metal helmet and red leather, he says he will have to train up his replacement – implying that he may have someone in mind already to promote. When asked if there is another Flash on Earth-3 that he never told them about, Jay states that “there will be… as soon as I’m done training her.”

SR flash extended family The Flash Adding a New Female Speedster But Who?

All present are intrigued by the addition of a new, female Flash on the parallel world, and with good reason. It’s not every day that a new Flash is named, but from these words alone, fans may disagree on exactly what Jay Garrick is confirming. His words could be taken as a hint that he actually has his own sidekick or speedster ally (a Wally West or Jesse Quick of his own), whom he will finish mentoring to take his top spot. Or, they could suggest that Jay Garrick is off to find a replacement Flash to train and, presumably, award with superspeed. He has simply decided to choose a woman.

The wording isn’t clear, and the first option seems like the most logical. The mythology of The Flash has been adapted, stretched, or flat-out reinvented for The CW TV show, so it’s possible that Jay knows how to give his superspeed to another person permanently. Perhaps it’s no coincidence that the next episode of The Flash sees Iris take Barry’s speed.

It seems even less of a coincidence that shortly after Jay’s comments, the mystery girl who may or may not be Barry Allen and Iris West’s daughter or granddaughter returns. Could she be the speedster referred to by Jay? Could she be the woman looking to win Jay’s powers? Or are they completely unrelated, and Jay Garrick’s successor will soon arrive to explain the entire situation?

We’ll have to wait and see… and speculate, obviously.Who do YOU think Jay Garrick will choose as the new Flash of Earth-3? A DC Comics speedster, or somebody completely new?
